Wayne Skene

Wayne's life as a Teamster began in 1990 after a successful organizing drive with Local 987 to bring the Northern Alberta Purolator Courier employees into the Teamster family. As one of the original Shop Stewards at Purolator, Wayne represented the members for 10 years strong; 3 of which he held the position of Chief Steward.

In February of 2001, Wayne was hired as the Local 987 Business Agent to represent the members of Northern Alberta. Since acquiring this position, Wayne has successfully presented hundreds of grievances, numerous arbitration, and negotiated many Collective Agreements.

Wayne currently oversees the Edmonton Office and the day to day operations of the Northern Alberta membership. Wayne remains active in his organizing role, and his efforts have been instrumental in helping new groups join the Brotherhood of Local 987.
